Nine Day, Four Country Tour to Rwanda, Uganda, DR Congo and Burundi

The tour includes gorilla trekking, Nyiragongo trek, beautiful sceneries, lakes, waterfalls, and cultural visits.



Augustine Tours is offering a nine-day, four country tour to Rwanda, Uganda, DR Congo and Burundi, May through December, 2019.

The tour can be custom-made for solo travelers or small groups, and couples aiming to explore in a small amount of time and budget the African great lakes region nations which share a lot in history and culture. It is a perfect blend of wildlife, nature, history, and culture.

Some of the tour highlights include:


Day 1: Arrival in Kigali


Day 2: a visit to Gisozi genocide memorial, Presidential Palace Museum, former state house with exhibits on Rwandan history and debris from a presidential plane crash before the genocide starts in 1994.


Day 3: Bwindi National Park Headquarters where you will be allocated groups of gorillas to be visited. The gorilla trekking will lead you through Bwindi Mountain forest.


Day 4: Kitabi ranger post, the starting point of the Nyiragongo trek; the ascent starts at around 10:00 and you would reach the summit at around 5:00 P.M. Overnight at the crater.


Day 5: Nyiragongo Trekking- start descending Nyiragongo, drive back to La Grande Barriere and cross the border to return to Gisenyi. Walking city tour in Gisenyi. Overnight at Paradise Malahide Hotel.


Day 6: Historical & Cultural Visit - transfer to Nyanza King’s Palace. This was the residence of King Mutara III Rudahigwa and the Royal Palace that was traditionally built. And, this Palace offers a detailed look into Rwandan traditional seat of their monarchy. It is an impressive museum, restored to its 19th-century state. It is made entirely with native materials.


Day 7: Transfer To Bujumbura - Visit Albert’s crocodiles, slam Culture Centre, The Explorers Memorial, a huge rock in the Suburbs of Bujumbura commemorating the meeting between explorers Livingstone and Stanley.


Day 8: Full Day Tour: Source Of Nile, Karera Waterfalls - transfer to Source of Nile, Karera Waterfalls, Gitega National Museum, Gishora drum Sanctuary before driving back to Bujumbura. Overnight at Safari Gate Hotel.


Day 9: Fly From Bujumbura - enjoy a morning boat trip to Rusizi National Park to explore closer the hippos and birds in Lake Tanganyika before transfer to the airport.
