South Shore Opera 2018 Opera and Soirée, Chicago, October 28th

Chicago, IL - The South Shore Opera Company of Chicago will present a unique concert on Sunday, October 28, 2018 4pm – 5:30pm, at the South Shore Cultural Center, 7059 S/ South Shore Dr., Chicago, IL 60649.


The concert will feature opera arias and duets from Puccini, Mozart, and Offenbach performed by powerful opera voices of Kimberly E. Jones, Joelle Lamarre, Leah Dexter, Luther Lewis III and Adrian Dunn accompanied by chamber orchestra conducted by Leslie B. Dunner.

There will be a special performance by internationally acclaimed concert violinist involved in reviving the works of Black composers: Rachel Barton Pine performing Chevalier de Saint-Georges ’Violin Concerto in A Major, Op. 5, No. 2; a must-hear song I Want to DieEasy/Sometimes I Feel Like a Motherless Child by widely sought-after and award-winning composer Shawn Okpebholo; and as a special tribute, George T. Walker’s Lyric for Strings.
